Glassfibre Reinforced Polyester Drains (“GRP”)

We are delighted to distribute MEA’s innovative drainage solution – the GRP channel system.

The MEA GRP channel systems consist of the (100mm and 150mm) MEA Fluid range and the wider (200mm and 300mm) Mearin Plus range. The channels for each range are made of glassfibre reinforced polyester (GRP) making them extremely tough and lightweight which reduces labour for installation and transport costs.

GRP is a sturdy high-tech material perfectly adapted for construction purposes. MEA channels are ecological (recyclable, asbestos and heavy metal free) and show very good resistance to pressure (65N/mm²), to bending (12N/mm²) and to extreme temperatures (-35°C to + 200°C).

Applications for the GRP Drainage range includes – carparks, loading bays, driveways, shopping centres, wineries, public areas, service stations, train stations, sporting arenas and landscape applications.

The MEA Fluid range of channel covers are all heelguard and include ductile iron (class D), galvanised iron (class D), plastic slotted (class D), galvanised steel (class D) and stainless steel (class B).

The Mearin Plus range of channel covers include ductile iron ‘wave’ (up to class F), ductile iron ‘slotted’ (class E) and galvanised mesh (class D).

MEA have introduced the “Mearin Plus Flat Channel” made from GRP (Glassfibre Reinforced Polyester) which is shallower than others currently available. These channels are the ideal drainage solution when workable depth is limited. For example, in hard ground conditions including extended footings or for non-ground floor levels like suspended floors and roof gardens. The product comes in 100mm, 150mm and 200mm wide channels and can be fitted with any MEA grate. The 100mm channel is 55mm deep, the 150mm wide channel is 75mm deep and the 200mm wide channel is 100mm deep.
