The Grove Apartments in Claremont have the best of both worlds. It is a place where urban living seamlessly blends with nature’s tranquility. Set on one of the area’s characteristically peaceful leafy green streets, it is just a short stroll from dozens of cafés, bars, restaurants and boutiques. The Grove is minutes from the town centres of Peppermint Grove, Claremont and Cottesloe. The Grove also boasts a new standard in high-rise living, with a raft of amenities newly included in a residential tower. Resident amenities in the newly completed complex include a $600,000 golf simulator, a Moroccan-themed thermal bathhouse with hot and cold pools, a sauna and steam room, a lap pool, a gym and yoga studio, a workshop or makers shed, a kids’ playroom, dining rooms and vegetable gardens.  

Civil and General Distributors collaborated closely with our customer Christopher Contracting Plumbing & Drainage for over two years to provide the following drainage solutions for The Grove Apartments:    

Threshold Drains

Together with our supplier Stormtech, we designed a custom 23 metre threshold drain that incorporated different door frame heights, transitioning from integrated with door frames to adjacent to windows and around a corner. This bespoke design featuring architectural wedge wire grates is now a feature of the dining area providing zero threshold transition between the internal and external areas.

Stainless Steel Channel and Grate

The ground floor plunge pool area has 40 metres of Stormtech made to length channel with architectural Heelguard grates.

MEA Drains

Installed on the ground floor and podium areas are 75 metres of 200mm clear opening polymer concrete channels with class B stainless steel slip resistant Heelguard grates. Civil and General also supplied 89 metres of shallow 130mm wide polymer concrete channels (60mm and 80mm deep) both with class B slip resistant stainless-steel grates.

MEA 300mm wide polymer concrete channels with ductile iron Heelguard grates installed in the driveway cross overs.
