The new Carlisle train station, being part of the State Governments Metronet project, opened in June 2025. It is close to Mint Street and Archer Street which spaces out the rail stations better in this area and allows for better connections to bus routes.

The station has two 150-metre long platforms, accessible by lifts and stairs, with provisions for escalators in the future. The car park is located under the elevated railway, and the railway is positioned on the southern side of the rail corridor, allowing for expansion to four tracks in the future.

Civil and General Distributors was pleased to supply to our customer Knowles Plumbing over 200 metres of custom made Stormtech 150mm wide stainless steel channel and grates with slip resistant Class B grates locked down. These provide a safe and sleek looking addition to the new Carlisle train station.
